Venture to Indiana

We had the opportunity before the weather turns cold and the baby is here so we had a 'big trip' as Sarina called it to Indiana to see my friend Shannon. Sarina did exceptionally well in the car. The trip down we made it four hours before my bladder was starting to cry out (and that was even after a coffee!) so we stopped for a quick gas tank fill, diaper change and grabbed a sandwich from the convenience store and we were back on the road in less than 15 minutes. As we neared Indianapolis there were a few complaints from the back seat because she really needed a nap but couldn't doze off. The trip was about six hours total to Shannon's mom's house. We spent the night there and headed off to Shannon's farm around Noon.

So many animals, so little attention span! She didn't know where to turn there was so much to see. Shannon's daughter Brieanna (12) was a delightful escort around the farm.

Just outside the house were two chickens, two turkeys, a rooster, a goat, two dogs and four cats.

The goat was hilarious. He just wanted to keep following Sarina around.

Back around the house were five black calves in a barn and a stable of horses. More cows could be seen around the area, Sarina was sure to point those out periodically too.

While we weren't outside on the farm checking out the live animals Shannon's younger daughter Lexi (10) was showing Sarina the farm animals on the SeeNSay.

Since I had to work on Tuesday afternoon we decided to return home Monday evening just in case the return trip didn't go as smooth I didn't want to be exhausted/late for work. However it turned out to be another great ride in the car, though we had a little more stop time and we were slowed up by a few construction zones. She even woke up jolly to go upstairs and then ran over to Casey squealing and trying to hug him. Another 15 minutes or so and she was snuggled up in her bed as if she had just continued sleeping right on through.
